The

CHALLENGE

Funded by the federal government, headspace, is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, charged with helping young people aged between 12-25 who are going through a tough time by offering health advice, support and information about mental health.

Always a challenging demographic to reach, headspace was looking for an effective and engaging way to communicate key data and messaging around behaviours that have a negative impact on the mental health of young people. The content had to present information in a compelling way that would resonate with young people and encourage them to retain advice and key data.

The

SOLUTION

Due to their ability to present complex data and content in a simple and visually engaging way, infographics were the ideal content format to best present the information and data. Curated Content created key illustrations as the hero image of each infographic, and detailed data and information around the main visual image.

It was important not to present too much information given the age and concentration span of the key audience, but strike a balance whereby the data complimented the main image. By using Infographics as the content format, we felt there would be an increased likelihood of them being shared across social networks, reaching as wide an audience as possible.

Post-it-note
Infographics are an extremely popular form of visual content and are seven times more likely to be shared in a digital environment than an article

What ever the body shape, we should be proud of ourselves! The fact is we live in a very superficial world!

The

RESULTS

The campaign results exceeded expectation. The infographics were widely shared and liked (detailed below), and a selection of comments included demonstrates the appeal of this content format. The comments also demonstrated an appreciation for the execution of the key messages around subject matter that is often difficult to communicate in a manner that encourages a wider discussion among the intended peer group.

This is fantastic, have shared at Wholistic Therapies.

I think the illustration is really excellent. The missed calls on the phon and the empty drink cans show the physical presentation, the actual life of someone depressed. Not often what comes to mind when we think of depression diagnoses.
-Lisa Margaret

Thanx for posting it reminds me to talk to my sons about bullying.
